5 Power Decisions for Women to Make in 2015admin
In numerology, the number 1 is often translated to represent ambition, leadership, intelligence and energy. The number 5 is Mercury, the planet of business and finance. When you add the two together you get 6, a very romantic number as it symbolizes Venus the planet of love. Ambition, business and love. A very interesting mix indeed.
So what does it all mean?
I believe that 2015 represents a chance for women to embrace love in every aspect of their lives, personally and professionally. We often hear the phrase “love yourself” and that most certainly should be a strong mantra that we should all hold on tight to, but I’m also talking about love of adventure, love of your fellow working women, love of trying new things.Truly just being in love with every aspect of your life.
I’m looking forward to making this the best year yet! I’m making a commitment to upholding these 5 power decisions for 2015. We often forget about our resolutions but decisions are more lasting. I hope you will join me:
In 2014, I saw tremendous business success but simultaneously was met with betrayal on a few unexpected occasions. It’s never an easy thing to deal with it, especially if it involves people you considered to be your friends. I’ve carried that hurt with me this entire year and as I sit here in total reflection mode, I’ve come to a very clear realization – who cares? There’s no point in carrying any hurt feelings of the past into a new year. I’ve gained nothing except added stress and worry and for what? The past is exactly that – the past. I’ve vowed to forgive everyone that I’ve felt has wronged me in the past and I sincerely wish them total happiness, success and a bright future.
2. You Are a Specialist. Claim It.
You were born you for a reason. There is no one else on the planet like you. You are the first you that there ever was. That’s a really powerful thing when you think about it. Embrace being original and special. Stand out! As women, we try to be all things to all people and that is simply just not possible. In this year, identify what makes you unique and make a conscientious decision daily, weekly and monthly to celebrate that.
3. Evaluate The People In Your Life
Every time the seasons change, I go in to my closet and take a look at what pieces of my wardrobe can stay and which items I need to pack away until the seasons change again. I also take that time to see what still fits or if there’s anything I have outgrown. I think you can apply this same practice to the people you connect with the most on a daily or weekly basis. Do they still fit? Have you outgrown them? Or like that really cute dress you’ve only worn once that’s hidden in the back of your closet, maybe you’ve forgotten how fabulous they really are? An inventory check of the people in your life has primary placement on your January “To Do” list.
4. Invest in Yourself
Let’s take it up a notch ladies. We can all do so much better. The biggest investment you will ever make is the one you make in yourself. If you want to be a blogger, invest in a graphic design or writing class. If you want to start your own business, invest in the resources needed to craft an intelligent, well thought out business plan. Or if you have an existing business but want to take it to the next level, take a good hard look at your budget and determine how much of it you can allocate towards marketing and outreach. Personally speaking, my goal is to get in better shape and to also continue improving on my public speaking skills. So I’ve finally replaced my beloved running shoes (don’t ask how old they were) for a pair that will give me better form and support and signed up for two 5Ks in January. I’m also especially excited about the public speaking class I reserved a spot in as well next month. Always do your best today because what you are planting now will surely harvest later.
5. Spark the Fire
If you aren’t passionate about the life you are currently leading right now, it’s time to change it. We often fool ourselves in believing that there’s always going to be time to do the things we really want to do. That is just not true. Tomorrow is not promised. Every day that you wake is not only a precious gift, but another chance for you to get it right. What are you waiting for? Why not take the first step in living a life that you designed? If you hate your job or you are in a relationship that does not fulfill or inspire you, then the buck must stop here, today. You deserve to live a passion filled life. You deserve to experience that. But you have to want it first.
I wish you all nothing but love and ambition in 2015. The greatest love story of all time starts January 1st:)
